Driveway Clams

INGREDIENTS

  • 50 Littleneck Clams, rinsed and purged
  • 4 Chorizo links, cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 2 Garlic cloves, chopped
  • 1 Scallion bunch, chopped
  • 2 Beers
  • Olive oil
  • Old Bay
  • 1 Parsley bunch, chopped
  • 3 Lemons
  • Crusty bread

 

PROCESS

  1. Fire up the stovetop and heat up a large sauce pan.
  2. Pour in a couple glugs of olive oil.
  3. Add 2 cloves of chopped garlic
  4. Drop in 4 links of Chorizo
  5. Throw in a handful of chopped scallions. Cook it.
  6. Add in the clams you’ve hunted (or bought here…whatever works). Stir.
  7. Add a couple ‘Gansetts or any beer will do (be sure to save one for yourself). Cover & Steam.
  8. Once the clams start to open up, sprinkle several shakes of Old Bay 
  9. Add a few more glugs of olive oil.
  10. Toss in a big handful of chopped parsley.
  11. Squeeze in the lemon juice. 
  12. Add salt and pepper to taste
