2019 TOURS ARE NOT AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE YET. BELOW IS INFORMATION FROM THE 2018 SEASON, BUT IT IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE! HOPE TO SEE YOU AT THE FARM SOON.
Have you ever wanted to experience the world of Island Creek Oysters first hand? Does eating oysters on the Bay they’re harvested from sound like a great way to spend an afternoon? If that is a yes (and we think it might be), we would love to have you down to Duxbury for a Farm Tour!
While we have offered tours for years, this will be our best year yet. We recently purchased an eleven acre historic property on the Duxbury waterfront and now have more space and access to the water than ever before. This has also allowed us to open up more days and times to accommodate high demand. And we have added weekend tours for the first time ever! In the past, the tickets have sold out fast, so we are hoping that by opening things up, everyone can get a spot.
Here’s the rundown of your beautiful afternoon on Duxbury Bay: after meeting at our headquarters, you will be transported to our hatchery, where we produce all the larvae for the next year's crop. This is where you’ll geek out with #science and see how the full process works from spawn to seed!
We’ll take you through the upweller and nursery stage where the baby oysters get ready to grow. While you will not be able to actually harvest any oysters yourself (can’t get in the farm crew’s way!), you will see everything that’s used in the process and get a first hand experience of what aquaculture looks like.
Lest we get too deep in nerdy oyster stuff, next up is a boat ride on Duxbury Bay, where you’ll spend some time on one of the most beautiful and active bay’s in our fair commonwealth. You will see where the magic happens (don’t feed the farmers!) and get an eye and an earful of history, lore and oyster gossip. You’ll also get blasted with fresh air and a new perspective on the future of farming.
And last, but certainly not least, we will fill you up on unlimited freshly harvested oysters before you leave. Yes, you read that right - all you can eat! And you can eat them while looking at the water that they come from. Farm to table at it’s essence. When the tour is complete, you and your pals can hang out and enjoy the day, or go on the town beach, or hit the french pastry shop down the street for a coffee and after-tour treat. It’s important to note that tours are no longer BYOB as they have been in the past, but we do now have our on site raw bar that has just opened in July 2018!
Our farm tours have always been an awesome way to celebrate New England culture and nature at it’s finest hour, but this year we are re-focused, re-energized and incredibly excited to host you in our new home. Can’t wait to share it with you!

Transportation: Everyone is responsible for their own transportation to our farm in Duxbury. This year, however, we have partnered with Safe and Secure Livery Service! Enjoy a fun, relaxed, round-trip ride by leaving the traffic and transport to the professionals. Contact Al directly 857-492-1781 for more information - but remember, they book up ALMOST as fast as our tours do. "Don't Uber...Alber!" (It's 15% cheaper than premium ride sharing competitors.)
