Lobster Handing Instructions

When your lobsters arrive open the package immediately and inspect them for damage. Take photos of any crushed lobsters (phone camera is fine!) and send them along to us.

If a lobster appears to be dead – poke its eye. If his eye moves then he probably just has a case of jet lag and needed a nap. If the lobster is dead then separate from the rest of the lobsters and cook it separately.

The temperature of the lobster and length of time it has been dead are the most important factors in deciding if it can still be cooked and eaten. All of the lobsters leave our facility fresh from the sea and should be fine to cook dead or alive!

After cooking any suspect lobster, inspect the meat. If it is crumbly the lobster has spoiled and should not be eaten.
