We thought about calling the picnic package 'lunch' but that was just a little too much of an inside joke. You see, this is what we eat at our outdoor Raw Bar pretty much everyday. It's one of the few things that everyone here agrees on, whether you're a suit or a boot. Three tins of fish that need nothing more than a hunk of bread and a little sea salt, and our flagship Island Creek Oysters. It's portable, satisfying, sustainable and it's shellfish and seafood at the top of their game. Welcome to the family!
THREE DOZEN ISLAND CREEK OYSTERS AND THREE TINNED FISH:
RAMON PENA SARDINES IN SAUCE: This classic Spanish conserva blends the umami of sardines with acid in this tomato based sauce. For those who loves sardines, it puts a new spin on an old favorite without losing the spirit of the sardine.
RAMON PENA RAZOR SHELLS IN BRINE 6/8 SILVER LINE: Clean clam flavor, with nice firm texture. Very versatile and easily utilized as a great alternative when you cant find the fresh ones; Slice them up and throw them in chowders or they make a great finishing touch to a creamy pasta sauce. Less work and clean up than the live ones, and cooked to perfection! The perfect pantry staple.
RAMON PENA SMALL SCALLOPS IN SAUCE SILVER LINE: Petite, full body scallops with a soft texture and covered in a rich tomato sauce. These are a great tin to throw in the oven, broil the top and have over toast, or tossed in some fresh pasta.
At our Raw Bars in Duxbury, MA and Portland, ME we go through epic numbers of tinned fish. We aren't sure who eats more, our guests or our employees (cue late night negroni and tinned fish session). This is the first time we are offering the whole spread on-line as there is perhaps no better product for this time. These things are sustainable, healthy, easy to prep, made and manufactured by small businesses, and let's face it, they look really cool all stacked up in your pantry. They’ll be there waiting for you as the perfect addition to a lazy lunch on a summer Saturday with a glass of wine; the centerpiece of your next picnic; or a way to class up your virtual cocktail hour.
